Choosing to let go more often is so important in our day to day lives. When we let go, we tend to focus on the present moment. Try not to get so caught up in our thoughts and emotions. Avoid taking things personally and enjoy life as it is right now.
Letting go helps us to to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. It allows others to be responsible for themselves and for us to take our hands off situations that do not belong to us. This frees us from unnecessary stress.
If anything has held me back in life, it's my own self. I didn't let go as much as I should have, judged others without realizing it and most of all, judged myself to no end. There was little understanding of how the world worked, and how everyone is their own person. I always thought that I had a good understanding of others and how life works, but that couldn't be further from the truth. How can I understand things around me when I don't even understand myself?
We all lie to ourselves about how much we understand the things around us. Trying to control everything only makes us more frustrated, i.e. when people don't act how you want them to act; how hard you might try at something, but can never seem to achieve your goals - we get discouraged when things don't go our way. This results in negative emotions and pulls us down even further in our lives. When reality doesn't meet our expectations, we tend to get stuck.
Letting go will help us understand that life is how you make it to a certain extent. There are things that are beyond our control that we need to let go of. We need to understand that life isn't supposed to go your way all the time. Life is meant to challenge you and make you learn how to deal with everything that comes your way. Let go of the past, the future and everything else that is beyond your control. The sooner you realize this, the better off you will be.
